Maybe it’s a poster from the USSR expressing their respects after Mao’s death?
That would make sense, except the small Chinese print in the corner identifies it as something produced in China. Also, by the time Mao died relations between China and the USSR were near rock bottom and Mao was probably more popular in Washington DC than in Moscow. But I don’t know why Chinese people would believe the claim that the Soviet people were in deep mourning for Chairman Mao, if this is a poster for domestic consumption… hmmm.
